The EDC’s immediate concern is the impact to our local economy. Local consumer traffic has dropped sharply over the last couple of days. The impact of consumer traffic changes could be substantial and many of our smaller businesses could be severely impacted.

Below is additional information for businesses on how to handle Covid-19 and also information on the SBA’s economic loan program.

The CDC has setup a Covid-19 guidance website to assist businesses and employers.

Linking to a non-federal website does not constitute an endorsement by CDC or any of its employees of the sponsors or the information and products presented on the website.

The SBA has opened up their disaster loan website for businesses impacted by Covid-19, although Texas is not yet listed as eligible. We believe that should come early next week.

The SBA provides low-interest disaster loans to help businesses and homeowners recover from declared disasters.
